hello. My main interest and hobby is cycling, but I also like cars that roll on wheels.
In a situation where there was only one SUV, I was looking for a second car and bought a used car for the first time.
I thought about various ways, but I was so worried about buying a used car without a warranty period, so I set up a 6-month warranty period in “K Car” (Link) and bought a car. I’m going to write down the story of repairs made during the “K Car” warranty period.

Buy a car from K Car
I got consignment service. It was said that if you are not satisfied within 7 days, you can get a refund, so I received the consignment service with a little peace of mind.
Of course, if you do not like it and request a refund, the consignment service fee will not be refunded.
It was my first time buying a used car, so I was very worried, but it was surprisingly clean.
However, the smell, which was assumed to be polishing agent, was too strong.
They say the smell goes away in about a month… but it lasted longer than I thought.
Except for the strong smell of polish, I really liked it.
The person who consigned me was really the one who only took care of consignment, so there was no mention of the purchase process.
They brought it to the underground parking lot.
The beginning of the problem – the air conditioning cooling system
It’s only been a week since I bought it. As soon as the refund period ends. Something went wrong.
After going to work and parking, I had to go somewhere during lunchtime, so when I came to the parking lot, pink liquid was flowing like this.
It was the first time I had seen this phenomenon in a car, so I inquired, and they asked me to leave the car at a nearby repair shop and let them know. I applied at the Chevrolet branch.
It is said that the coolant leaked out, but the problem was not simple. The repair cost was 1,700,000 won. All repaired under warranty.
If I hadn’t signed up for the warranty, I think I would have been really dizzy.
While doing this repair, I spent my own money and requested various maintenance such as engine intake cleaning, belt, carbon removal, etc.
There were parts that I felt while riding, and there were additional things I learned, that the car does not have an outside air temperature sensor, that the engine “Mimi” is all broken, and that the front disc pad is bent and the car vibrates when braking.
The car shakes every time I brake. – Replace the brake rotor
I called “K Car” again because the car shuddered when I applied the brakes. Then, this time, he guided me to the nearby “Oasis”.
So I went and checked it out, and the front disc rotor was slightly bent, and they said that this part would be replaced as a warranty repair. The repair cost was about 900,000 won and it was repaired under warranty.
And at the same time, when I inquired about the phenomenon that the engine “Mimi” was broken and the vibration of the car was severely felt, they said that this part is a consumable and is not included in the warranty.
So the engine “Mimi” was replaced at my own money.
And the problem that there was no outside temperature sensor is also repaired under warranty.
Suspension keeps making noise. – bushing replacement
Every time I go over bumps, I started to hear a creaking noise.
It’s okay when you go over very lightly, but when you go over bumps a little hard, there’s a creaking sound, so I was very concerned.
A bigger problem was that even when I went to the general “Oasis” affiliate store, there was no will to repair it.
The answer was that it could not be helped or that there was no sound, etc. Some places said that it was repaired, so I spent 50,000 won for personal expenses, but the sound was still there.
I was so stressed out that I made a strong inquiry to “K Car”, and they guided me to a repair shop a little far away.
This place was not an “oasis” and there was some distance, but there was no way, so I went far.
There are too many cars to repair.
There was a signboard that said it was a repair shop specializing in imported cars.
The owner of the repair shop was aware of the sound and was willing to fix it.
Fortunately, all the parts that caused the sound were replaced with reproduction parts.
The repair cost was about 1,000,000 won, and it was all repaired under warranty. I pay 50,000 won for my deductible.
And it rides comfortably.
Warning light on power steering? – variable steering wiring problem
The warranty period has ended with the replacement of the rear suspension bushings.
I had a 6 month warranty repair. Now that I think about it, I think it would have been okay even if I did it for a year.
After the warranty repair was over, all the tires were changed to Michelin and it was riding well with meticulous maintenance, but the power steering warning light came on and the steering wheel became heavy.
Even after repairing it, the warning light came on again.
In the end, the wiring that went into the power steering was old and had poor contact, and the repair was finished because it had a lot of friction with other wires.
conclusion
I bought a used car for the first time in my life.
“K Car” came up with a used car refund system, so when I made a purchase, I asked other used car sellers, “Is it possible to get a refund?” I’ve asked.
They treated me like crazy.
I felt it then. I should buy it with “K Car”…
I’ve bought a new car 4 times and I’ve bought a used car once.
Used cars seem to have their own merits.
In particular, if you are a little interested in the process of solving annoying problems like me, I recommend buying a used car. However, it seems that a new car is a good choice for those who are too bothered by repairs and are afraid of problems.
If I were to buy another car, I think I would buy a used car.
Especially if there is not one car in the house, but two or more, I don’t worry too much if something needs to be repaired.
In addition, if you set the “K Car” warranty repair period longer, there seems to be more merit in purchasing a used car.
ah! I’ll also pass on one tip.
You can get a refund up to 7 days, right? So, as soon as you receive your car, get it fully inspected.
I think it’s okay to schedule a full inspection in advance, inspect the car immediately after receiving it, and make up your mind at that time if you feel that the car is worth riding while repairing it.
I couldn’t do that.
