I am using a Quadlock smartphone case.
Bought the quadrock for 2021.
I bought the XS MAX case and the Quadlock handlebar/stem mount.
There was a little ambiguous part to purchase in terms of amount. Especially Mount.
Since I have one cell phone, I only need to buy one case, but since I have several bikes, I had to buy 5 mounts.
However, in case I bought 5 of them and would be disappointed, I bought one ‘handlebar/stem mount’ and one quadlock smartphone case.
The thickness is rather thick.
The rear fastener is slightly protruding.
The first impression is that the Quadlock Smartphone Case is thicker than expected.
The part where the mount is attached protrudes more than I thought.
So, if you put it on the floor with its back side down, it will spin round and round. In the picture it looks like it’s just sticking out a little, but it’s a bit of a concern.
(The fun of spinning round and round is a bonus…)
Mounting is not as easy as I thought.
When I saw it in a photo or video, I expected it to be settled like taking off my glasses or putting on slippers, but it is not as easy as I thought.
I’ve been using it for a few years and it works fine.
It takes quite a bit of time to adapt than I thought, and I still make mistakes once or twice a month? It is often re-positioned and bound.
I also purchased an “Out Front Mount” .
After using it, I liked it, so I bought an “Out Front Mount”(Link) mount to mount on one more bike.
‘Out-front mount’ has a long one and a short one.
I chose the short one.
I installed it on the handlebar of a road bike and installed it upside down with the cell phone on the stem.
This mount was much easier to dismount than the ‘handlebar/stem mount’.
The ‘handle bar/stem mount’ has a hidden part on the back of the phone that needs to be pulled to release it, so I could never take off the smartphone with one hand.
However, I liked the above out-front mount because it was easy to remove by pressing the lever with my thumb and turning the smartphone.
In addition, I also bought a ‘phone ring’.
A phone ring (Link) is an accessory that allows me to hang a ring on the part where the mount is attached.
It was strangely loose, so there was a phenomenon that it turned so well. So it’s easy to get lost…
It was a disappointing item.
In addition, I had to mount it, take it out, and put it back on, which was a lot more cumbersome than I thought.
That’s why it’s an unused item.
A quadlock case gap has opened up.
I’ve been using it for quite some time. In the meantime… I felt the edges of the case opening up.
It gets bigger and bigger and it becomes like this.
If I close this open area well, it will come back a little bit.
Inadvertently, if I touch this part, it will open again.
I’m secretly concerned and disappointed with the quadlock case.
So I was wondering if there is a better way.
I like the mounting on the bike, but I don’t like the case,
Should I attach a ‘universal adapter’ to a general case? I thought about it.
The quadlock case is broken.
As in the article above, there was a gap, but it went through well, so I used it by attaching it to a bicycle.
Gradually, the phone started to rattle.
It doesn’t feel tight either. so i looked back
It was so broken.
So I put into practice what I was thinking about.
A universal adapter was attached to the general case.
I bought a ‘universal adapter’ and attached it to a case that I had previously but didn’t use while using a quadlock case. The material on the back of the case is suede.
Since it didn’t stick together, I tied it with thread. lol
I attached the adapter as above and it worked well.
I received a warranty product from Quadrock headquarters.
I was using it well with a threaded case… I suddenly became curious.
“If it’s broken even though I haven’t used it beyond the range of use… isn’t it a defect in the product?”
I thought that.
So, I contacted the store where I purchased it.
Then I heard the answer, “There doesn’t seem to be a warranty regulation.”
Because it was strange. There seemed to be no comment on this part on the homepage of the head office.
I sent an e-mail to Quadrock headquarters.
I didn’t really want to be compensated, but I was free from work.
I came up with an idea and sent an email.
Then the answer came.
Warranty is said to be 1 year.
However, the one I bought was in June 2021, so the 1-year warranty period was already over.
So after receiving the email, I said, “Yes, I understand. Thanks for confirming.” I was going to say
However, I received another email requesting additional information.
So I sent some pictures and got back in touch.
They said they would send me a new product if I send them proof of where I bought it.
so!! I received a new product. lol
Newly received cases do not have the same symptoms as existing cases.
It’s been a while since I got a new Quadlock Smartphone Case.
When I put the ‘phone ring’ on the new case, it wasn’t loose.
I felt that it was easier to mount than the previous case.
Best of all, no cracking or cracking issues yet.
There are also design changes that I can tell by looking very closely.
I am satisfied with it and it is well written.
I also use a smartphone charging cradle for the car.
The Quadlock Smartphone Case has one fatal flaw.
That’s the problem with wireless charging.
I was using a standard smartphone charging cradle that is usually used in the car.
Since the middle of the back is a case with a protruding structure, some holders do not hold the sides properly.
And even if the cradle holds it, it tilts when I try to touch the upper or lower part of the screen.
And then it falls.
It was a bigger problem than I thought.
However, even if I buy a new cradle, there is a risk because I have to buy it without guaranteeing that it will be perfectly compatible with this Quadlock Smartphone Case.
So I just end up buying the Quadlock charging cradle.
I bought a “Weatherproof Wireless Charging Head” (Link).
This was modified and mounted to be compatible with the existing mount system.
This case does not have a separate lever, but the rear wing part is wide, so it can be easily mounted with one hand and it is very easy to remove it.
I am using it and am satisfied.
I also bought a quadlock compatible cradle from aliexpress.
Since there are 5 bikes, I had to put my smartphone in my pocket and ride the bike on non-main bikes.
It was a bit risky and I thought it would fall well.
So I tried to buy a few more mounts… just when I thought it was too expensive
Ali Express sells quadlock compatible mounts.
Anyway, I bought this to test it on a bike that I don’t ride often.
However, it works very well and it was easy to put on and take off. but…
I’m not sure, but there is a little looseness that can only be felt from buying on AliExpress.
But since it’s on my life bike, I don’t have to worry too much.
Ordinary wireless chargers do not charge well.
In the case of normal wireless charging, the case is thick and does not charge well.
So, if you’re not using a wireless charger for Quadlock smartphone cases, you’ll need a slightly more powerful wireless charger.
For example, it’s like a wireless charger that charges your smartphone even if don’t touch it right away.
Or, among regular wireless chargers, there are chargers that can be charged even in Quadrock smartphone cases.
Finding a compatible wireless charger can be a waste of time and money.
And since I have two cars, the mounting part is not perfect when driving a car with a standard car holder. (Because the case is thick and the middle protrudes)
But at least I found a charging cradle that can be used safely and use it well.

When I used the Quadlock Smartphone Case, the initial version had some defects, or there was a problem
Although the warranty period has passed, the head office sent a compensation product.
The new quadlock smartphone case received under warranty was a more improved product and did not cause any problems.
Satisfied, I am using the charging mount, and I am also using the phone ring well.
Because it does not require electricity when mounted on a vehicle, it is good to be mounted before starting the engine, and satisfaction is high because it holds it very tightly.
Oh, and additionally, the ‘Out-Front Mount’ holds it more firmly than the ‘Handlebar/Stem Mount’.
